We appreciate your interest in Language, Literacy & Learning. Our center provides individual/small group tutorials and partial day programs. We have open enrollment throughout the school year, with the majority of students applying in the spring. Referrals can be made by school districts or by families.
To better acquaint you with our program and to assist you in determining if our program would be appropriate for your child’s needs, we have provided answers to the most critical questions below:
What Makes Our Tutoring/Partial Day Program Unique?
At Language, Literacy & Learning we provide individual/small group tutorials and partial day programs for students with complex educational needs. We provide:
Highly-specialized, individually-developed tutoring plans that tracks progress
Intensive and integrated remediation of skill deficits
An environment that challenges students in a safe and supported manner
An academic setting that supports the students’ involvement in their community
Direct instruction in and application of metacognitive strategies
Who are the Students We Serve?
While each child we serve is unique, the typical student attending our program has been diagnosed with a complex learning disability and as a result of this disability, has struggled to find success in their educational environment. Our students respond well to structure and support; are friendly and may be somewhat immature for their age (without significant behavioral or emotional problems); are motivated to learn; are able to communicate sufficiently to express their needs and wants; and have mastered basic daily living and personal daily living skills commensurate with their same aged peers.
